A flock of birds flying south. A flicker of red behind closed eyes. A pillar of books collapsing. One hundred mouths opening in unison. A wounded cheetah climbing up a tree. A walking stick tapping, pause, tapping. A twisting waist, a stiff knee, elbows pressing into ribs, focus. Two hands wrapping bandage around an arm. A lump of dough smashed into the kitchen counter. Two pairs of feet going on tip toe and down, tip toe and down. It’s about movement, necessity, banality. Created by electronic musician and composer Pouya Ehsaei and voicer, mover, writer Tara Fatehi, From the Lips to the Moon is an unusual music and poetry show. It’s an immersive space playing with the synergies of words, melodies, languages and beats to tell non-stories in goosebumps, twists and half-familiar languages. Pouya and Tara invite local guest artists from the Berlin scene to collaborate with them. Building textual, sonic and visual structures that activate spontaneity, listening and improvisation, each night, they create a unique live performance.
